A different way to do Steamboat

A month here doesn’t feel like a vacation. It feels like a season.

A week in Steamboat is a vacation. A month is a rhythm. You stop counting days. You learn which trailhead is best in the morning and which is best at dusk. The barista at the coffee shop downtown knows your order. You play a round at the course out the back door on Tuesday because the light is good and you have nowhere to be.

“It stops being a trip. It starts being where you live, for a while.”

Sanctuary 971 is built for that kind of stay. It’s a brand new 4-bedroom home that sits right on the golf course, just down the road from The Porches. Because of how Steamboat zones rentals in this pocket, we book it monthly only. Which, as it turns out, is the way most people want to stay here once they’ve tried it.

You get the privacy of a full home. You get our concierge for the things that are easier handled. You get the same access to The Barn (pool, jetted spa, steam room, fitness center, game room) that every Pinnacle guest gets. And you get to live in Steamboat for a month, instead of just seeing it.

Why a month changes the trip

Four ways a 30-night stay is different.

A week makes you a guest. A month makes you a local. Here’s what shifts when you stay longer.

01 / The Pace

You don’t have to do everything.

One-week trips come loaded with itineraries: hit every restaurant, every trail, every overlook. A month lets you skip the scramble. Have a quiet Tuesday. Read a book on the back patio. Save the hot springs for Saturday because it’s supposed to rain. The pressure to maximize disappears, and the trip gets better.

02 / The Setup

The house becomes home base.

Groceries come from City Market because that’s just where you shop now. You cook half your meals at the kitchen island, and let Pinnacle’s concierge handle reservations for the other half. The laundry happens in the home, not in a hotel bag. Your golf clubs live by the door. Everything is where you left it yesterday.

03 / The Climate

Steamboat summers are 75 degrees with low humidity.

If you’re flying in from the Southeast or anywhere with a serious July heat index, a month at 6,700 feet in the Yampa Valley is a different kind of summer. Cool mornings. Long evenings. The kind of weather where you actually want to be outside. We call it a “coolation,” and it’s how a lot of our monthly guests come to us.

04 / The Cost Math

Monthly works out cleanly when you do the math.

Nightly luxury rentals add up fast over 30 nights. Monthly rates are built for the longer stay, and the value shows up especially when you factor in everything that’s included: utilities, Wi-Fi, linens, concierge support, shuttle access, The Barn. No surprise resort fees layered on top.

Who books a month here

Four kinds of guests, one common reason.

A month in Steamboat works for very different groups. They show up with different agendas and leave with the same realization: a week wasn’t going to be enough.

01

The Golf Migration

Players from the Southeast (Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas) who want a month of mountain golf in July and August, with a tee time out the back door.

02

Multi-Gen Reunions

Three generations of family, one roof, one summer. The home is the gathering spot. The Barn is the kids’ afternoon. Concierge handles dinner.

03

Coolcation Travelers

Anywhere with a serious heat index sends people up here. The Yampa Valley averages around 75°F in summer. That’s the entire pitch, and it works.

04

Executive Retreats

Founders and leadership teams using the home as a longer-form work-and-bond setting. Reliable Wi-Fi, real space, a clubhouse for the off-hours.

Questions worth asking

Extended stay FAQs.

A long-term rental has more moving parts than a weekend. Here’s what most guests want to know before they book.

Why is Sanctuary 971 only available for monthly stays?
+

Local zoning. Steamboat Springs only permits nightly rentals in certain zones, and the area where Sanctuary 971 sits isn’t one of them. The good news is that this rules out the weekend crowd and keeps the home reserved for guests who actually want to settle in. Most of our monthly guests tell us they wouldn’t go back to a one-week trip.

What’s the minimum stay length?
+

30 nights. We can accommodate longer stays as well; just let us know your window when you reach out and we’ll confirm availability.

What does a monthly stay cost?
+

Pricing varies by season and dates. Use the live availability tool above for a real-time quote, or call (970) 879-0600 and we’ll talk through your window. Rates include the full home, all utilities, Wi-Fi, linens, concierge support, The Barn access, and our private shuttle.

Are utilities, Wi-Fi, and laundry included?
+

Yes. Electricity, water, heat, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a full in-home washer and dryer are part of every stay. You won’t see a utilities bill or pay extra for connectivity. Bandwidth is appropriate for remote work and video calls.

Is the kitchen stocked?
+

The kitchen comes with everything you’d expect in a high-end home: cookware, knives, dinnerware, glassware, coffee setup, basic pantry staples. You’ll want to grocery shop on arrival; our concierge can arrange a delivery from a local market if you’d rather skip that step.

What about housekeeping during a 30-day stay?
+

[CONFIRM with Emilie]. Standard policy for monthly stays typically includes a mid-stay clean and fresh linens once during the month, with additional service available on request. Confirm the exact cadence when you book.

Can I use The Barn while I’m here?
+

Yes. Every Pinnacle guest gets the same access to The Barn: the pool, the jetted spa, the steam room, the fitness center, the game room, and the great room. It’s a 6,000 sq ft clubhouse and it’s part of your stay at no extra cost. Most of our long-term guests use it daily.

How does the private shuttle work for monthly guests?
+

You get the same access as every other Pinnacle guest. The shuttle runs to the gondola (3 to 5 minutes), downtown, and around the resort area. For monthly stays, most guests use it for ski days, dinners downtown, and evenings out. It’s the easiest way to avoid the rental-car-plus-parking math.

Is there concierge service for longer stays?
+

Yes. Our concierge handles dinner reservations, activity bookings, golf tee times, recommendations for hot springs, hiking, biking, the rodeo, and anything else that’s easier with a local hand. Summer is light-touch by design (most guests want to set their own pace), but we’re available whenever you want help.

What’s the cancellation policy for a monthly booking?
+

Monthly bookings have a different policy structure than nightly stays. We’ll walk you through it before you reserve, and you’ll see the full terms on the booking screen. [CONFIRM exact policy language with Emilie before publishing.]

Can I bring my dog?
+

[CONFIRM pet policy with Emilie]. If yes, note any pet fee, breed/size restrictions, and whether pets are allowed in The Barn common areas (typically not, for shared spaces).

How close is the home to Steamboat Resort and downtown?
+

The gondola at the base of Steamboat Resort is 3 to 5 minutes away by our private shuttle. Downtown Steamboat, with its restaurants and shops, is a short drive past the mountain base. The home itself sits on the golf course in a quiet pocket, which is part of why monthly guests love the setup.

What’s there to do in Steamboat in summer?
+

A lot, and on your own schedule. Golf right out the back door. Strawberry Park Hot Springs. Hiking and mountain biking on hundreds of miles of trails. The Steamboat Pro Rodeo runs weekly all summer. Fishing on the Yampa. Tubing the river. Concert series at the mountain. The concierge can point you toward what fits your week.

Is the home available in winter?
+
